#22 - jeepney hell ride

Part of the commuting public? Ever been trapped in a jeep with thumping music and bass so loud you can actually feel your butt bouncing off your seat? Ever cursed inwardly after hearing tasteless green jokes that poke “fun” at your womanhood?

I wish there was a law that puts some limit on the volume (in decibels) for all public utility vehicles. Yes, the vehicles themselves are privately owned, but since they are being used for public transport, the drivers and operators should also be respectful of other people. Other countries have such laws. Why don’t we?

I’m not buying the logic of “just get off if you don’t want to listen.” Unfortunately, we can’t turn off our ears. And kicking out a rightfully indignant passenger means doing the opposite of why there are PUVs in the first place. The transport sector is offering a service. It should not brush off things that inconvenience people.

We can’t always be permissive. Sometimes I wish Filipinos were less like sheeps and more like wolves.

siyempre nakaka relate ako. punyetang sexy terry na yan.

natawa ako dun sa comic, pero nabwiset din :p kadalasan yung mga jeep na ‘to, sila din yung sobrang bilis na parang mamamatay ka na. jeepney hell ride talaga kasi parang sa hell ka dadalhin.

hay, yun din nga. ok lang naman kung gusto ng mga taong makinig dun, eh trip nila eh. pero sana ilagay sa lugar. hindi porke’t napapasaya sila dun lahat na ng tao natutuwa sa istasyon na yan, or sa bumabayong bass sa upuan ng kung anong pinapatugtog nila.

hmmm… swerte mo ikaw may kotse ka. magbike na nga lang!

Di ako sumasakay ng jip na maingay takot ako sa NIHL (noise-induced hearing loss). Permanent damage yun e.

marami talagang taong walang konsiderasyon. hmmm… sana may nakalagay din man lang silang karatula na “MAINGAY DITO”, kasama nung mga sign kung san ang biyahe. at least madali iwasan. minsan golpe de gulat eh.
