#19 - the mute button

Like my former trainer used to say, “The mute button is your friend.”

Anyone who has ever worked in a call center will attest as to how stressful it can get. Call center agents, especially customer care agents, get it bad. I’ve seen girls cry. I’ve seen boys scream. Some people throw their headsets. Others go on “yosi break” to calm their nerves. The strip above is based on a certain feisty girl who’s fondness of colorful words was a source of entertainment for us all.  God bless her.

Strip #19 is a tribute to my old account, which I heard is closing down soon. That’s sad. It’s been over three months since I resigned as a semi-Senior Quality Analyst to help expand a more personal business. Sometimes I still miss walking along Ayala Avenue at 3am, or taking breaks with my friends in front of 7-Eleven or MiniStop in Ortigas. What I don’t miss are escalations, the office politics, and the freezing temperature inside the office. Brrrrr….

What do you love/hate about call center work?
